“Library and Information Sciences is an interdisciplinary field that applies the practices, perspectives and tools of Management, Information Technology, Education and other areas to Libraries. It aims to educate students in the philosophy of librarianship, basic principles, fundamental laws and professional ethics for enhancing their understanding and appreciation of the functions and purpose of Library and Information Center in the changing social, cultural, technological and economic environment by providing them the basic knowledge of computer and its application in library and information activities.
